To all Koi lovers and enthusiasts, welcome to my site!
The idea of setting up this website has been percolating in my mind for the past three or four years now. But it’s only this year that I’ve really found the time (and the willpower) to untangle myself from the wires and cables of my humble IT workstation and jumpstart this special project.
Well, some of you might ask: What makes this website special?
First of all, because I’m sharing with you something that it close to my heart — my love for ornamental fish and everything that swims, has gills and sings “under the sea!” Actually, only a handful of my friends know that I’m a fish lover. To my officemates, I’m the “IT guy” who get who gets to solve their computer woes. And to my high school and college buddies, I’m Allen “The Dancerous” the one who gets to share with them the latest dance moves (although I’ve gained a few ‘healthy” pounds since my high school days).
But Allen, the fish guy? Yes, my friends, I’m a sucker for the aquatic kind. I fell in love with fish when I was a still little boy running around the neighborhood in my briefs (although I’m no longer allowed by my Mom to do this.) Little did my parents know that the money I was supposed to be using for my school projects were being funneled to a growing hobby. First, it was fighting fish. Boy, I really loved those little mean son-of-a-guns! After satiating my thirst for fish of the gladiator kind, I decided to settle for the gentler variety, the gold fish. I remember how I cried a bucket when I found my favorite gold fish doing the backstroke by his lonesome without breathing. I even convinced an elder cousin of my mine to perform memorial rights that day to make me feel a little better (I did feel much better.).
Fastforward to the present.
My love for fish has now become a passion. And this passion, which has grown over the years, has driven me to create this website for fish lovers, especially for Koi enthusiasts like me. I originally envisioned this website to be a forum wherein I can exchange best practices and technologies with my fellow Koi enthusiast here in Davao. However, it occurred to me that this site can be much, much more. Now, I have designed it in such a way that you, my friends, not only in Davao but all over the world, can share your unique and memorable experiences in taking care of your prized Koi. Please don’t hesitate to send me your thoughts, no matter how outrageous they, as long as they can help us grow and improve as Koi enthusiasts and breeders. And for those who are just starting the hobby and would like get advice or perhaps place orders for your aquarium, just send me an email and I will try to respond to you the soonest possible time.
To my old time and new found friends, welcome again to my site and happy viewing!
